We spent all day yesterday and today at Disneyland. We started out following the Ridemax plan, but soon veered off it as we realised the wait times for most attractions were under 10 minutes. It was great at the start of the day as we knew what rides to go on first instead of just wandering round the park. So we were able to get on the busiest rides before anyone else got there. I also learnt today that I'm an insanely fast speed walker, like Olympic walking speed. It's crazy.
Over the last 2 days we've pretty much done every ride at Disneyland and California Adventure. Our favourites seem to be the animatronic ones that you go round in a little car. Like Peter Pan, Monsters Inc, Winnie the Pooh and Mr Toad's Wild Ride. It's so cute seeing the story being told out in front of you.
I've brought some Minnie Mouse ears to wear in the park. It's a pity our luggage is already so full, I want to buy so much stuff. They have amazing Christmas and Halloween decorations, and heaps of really cool stuffed toys. Maybe when we visit Euro Disney we'll buy up large.
We managed to get tickets to the World of Colour show at California Adventure tonight. It's a water show where scenes from movies are projected onto the water. It's free, but you needed to get tickets from the Fastpass machine before they were all gone. Thanks to my speed walking we managed to get some! Hopefully we can get some good photos and video.
This morning was a Magic Morning at Disneyland. This means that if you have a multi day ticket, you can go into Disneyland an hour before the rest of the park opens. The park was still really busy but we got to go on the rides we'd missed out on yesterday. We went on the Finding Nemo submarines, which are submarines that have little portholes that show scenes from Finding Nemo as you go under the water. It was really cool.
We're really enjoying Disneyland so far. We've been going in the morning then coming back to the hotel after lunch to have a swim because the park gets too busy around lunchtime. Then we go back in the evening when it's quieter. The parks look awesome all lit up at night. We'll try and get some photos tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow the park is open until midnight, it has been closing at 8 pm this week. Plus the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain will be open tomorrow, so we're excited for that, and there will be fireworks tomorrow night a well.
The above photo is a bit blurry, but it's NZ from the It's A Small World ride.
Also, thanks so much for all your comments. We really love reading them, and it's great to see how many people are reading our blog :)
looks like you're having a great time! The gift shop looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteMum's looking forward to the pictures from the World of Colour. Dad says that his favourite ride was space mountain.
