A day at the Seaside

On Monday we caught the train from London Victoria to Brighton. Brighton is a seaside town about an hour out of London. It's such a nice trip out on the train, so much nicer than flying. We took our Kindle's to keep us occupied and we seemed to get there super quick.

Oddly enough it was really sunny again, actual shorts and t-shirts weather this time. So it was a nice day to spend at the seaside.

Brighton is a pretty eclectic town, there are heaps of vintage clothing stores, almost like the whole town is a little market. There are also the usual High Street shops like Topshop, Zara and French Connection. I hate Zara, nothing in there ever fits me. On the other hand, I LOVE French Connection, they have the best stuff, but it's a bit more expensive.

You can pretty much walk everywhere in Brighton within about 20 minutes of leaving the train station. We wandered through town towards the pier. Obviously we were there in the off season, so it was pretty quiet. We really enjoyed Brighton Pier, much more than Santa Monica Pier. It didn't seem to touristy and seedy. They had heaps of rides, but it was the off season so no one was riding any of them. Some of the roller coasters looked pretty scary, and they're right on the water so you could imagine flying right off!

There was also the carnival stalls where you could win prizes, but they all looked a bit rubbish so we didn't play any. There's also a big indoor arcade, but it seemed to be more like a casino than have any actual games inside.

There were lots of really cute colourful houses. Would be nice to live in a house by the seaside. Except that the seaside in Brighton would not be nice for swimming, the whole beach is just stones and pebbles. How awful to try and sunbathe on!

There was also lots of cool street art down the backstreets of Brighton, like these massive pop culture murals. It looked really awesome.
