On Thursday we went to Borough Markets and to Tower Bridge. We had already seen Tower Bridge when we went to the Tower of London, but it was nice to see it from the other side of the Thames.
Borough Markets on a Thursday was perhaps not as good as it would have been on a Saturday. It also didn't help that we had just had lunch, so we weren't really hungry for anything. Most of the people there seemed to be office workers on their lunch break picking up some lunch.
It was a pretty big Farmers Market, lot's of different kinds of food, like pastries, cheesecakes, roasts and some freshly killed rabbits hanging up!
After the markets we went for a walk along the Thames towards Tower Bridge. It's a nice walk alongside the river, there are lots of cafes, and a small Galleria with some shops. We walked down behind City Hall where you can get a great view of the bridge.
There are lots of nice apartments down behind the bridge, and lots of little hidden alleyways. It was quite a nice day, it started out pretty sunny, but was a bit chilly walking by the water. We stopped at Starbucks to get a coffee before heading over the bridge. It's a pretty quick walk over the bridge, it took us less than 10 minutes to go across to the other side.
We walked from Tower Bridge into the city afterwards, took us about half an hour. It's pretty easy to walk most places in central London, it's easy to forget when you spend all the time on the tube.
We stopped at MAC on the way past, and I brought some new makeup from the Venomous Villains range. It's quite a cool collection, decorated with all the Disney Villains, like Cruella De Vil and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. I brought some new mascara after the guy asked if I wanted him to put some on me when I was already wearing some! The range made us want to watch Disney movies again, so may have to get some on DVD.
awesome photos of you guys in front of Tower Bridge.
ReplyDeleteoh, I spent soooo much money on the VV collection - I bought almost the whole Evil Queen range & a few Malificent things. my poor bank account.
