Autumn Colours at Borough Market

What better way to spend a drizzly Autumn day than wandering around Borough Market. We got up early this morning and headed to our favourite London Market, which has recently opened a beautiful glass atrium in the Market Hall.

This glass structure has turned, what was for ages, a horrendously busy rammed part of the market, into a light and airy space full of bench seats and pot plants.

Being smack bang in the middle of Autumn, and with only one week to go before Halloween, the market was unsurprisingly full of amazing brightly coloured displays of various pumpkins and gourds.

Nothing puts you in the Halloween spirit more than seeing barrels full of orange pumpkins scattered around the market.

We wandered around the market, stopping at the various stalls and shops to try different kinds of cheese, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salami. We picked up some freshly made Vine Leaves and Baklava, but stopped short of buying Crocodile Burgers. You really can find absolutely everything at Borough Market!

After eating as many free samples as we could fit in, we headed south to Brockley Market for burgers from Motherflipper, recently voted the best in London. No surprises there, we decided they were the best months ago after trying most of the burger options in London. They're obviously the best if we're willing to travel over an hour from West London just for a Bacon Swiss burger!

Breakfast muffin. Also delicious!
