Oia and Amoudi Bay

We spent our last morning on Santorini in Oia. We slept in a bit and caught the bus from Imerovigli to Oia at about 10.30 a.m.

We were catching the ferry from the port to Paros at 3.00 p.m., so we had to be back at the hotel for our port transfer at 1.30 p.m.

The bus was pretty full, but we managed to get on and we arrived in Oia at about 11.00 a.m. We wandered around for a while, and decided to wander down to Amoudi Bay. Amoudi Bay is located 300 steps below Oia. It's a long way down and it was so hot, and pretty slippery that it took a good 20 minutes to walk down.

Once we got to the bottom we had a stunning view of Oia from below. Apparently you can swim from the port, but the sea was too rough, so we had a walk around the rocks and wandered around to Amoudi Beach.

We didn't realise the walk would be quite as long, we passed a couple of other people walking, but mostly everyone else was driving!

We found the beach deserted when we arrived, so it was quite nice to have the beach to ourselves! It was pretty windy, and the water was freezing, so I stayed on the beach, but Bradley managed to have a quick swim to cool down after our longer than anticipated walk!

We walked back into Oia to get the bus back to the hotel, and found the first bus back completely packed with people, so we had to wait and get the next one. Fortunately the next one wasn't as busy, so we managed to get on and made it down to the port in time to get our ferry to Paros!

We were really sad to be leaving Santorini, which we had fallen in love with, but also excited to get to Paros and see how different it was.
