We arrived in Bruges on Saturday afternoon, it wasn't snowing but there was snow everywhere on the ground! We were so excited, the weather forecast for London keeps saying snow, and we have yet to see any, so to see it in Bruges was awesome.
We got a taxi to the B&B from the train station. This taxi driver was so much nicer than the one in Brussels, everyone seems nicer in Bruges actually. I think maybe they're just more used to tourists.
Our B&B was lovely, we were on the top floor overlooking the canals, we could see snow on everyone's rooftops, it was so pretty.
Bruges is quite a small town, so you can walk everywhere pretty easily. We walked from our B&B into the Markt, which is where the Christmas Market is, and is pretty much the centre of Bruges. It's such a pretty city, Christmas decorations everywhere and lovely old buildings. There is a big ice rink in the Markt, and it was covered in snow, so everyone was falling over!
They have horse and carriage rides round the city, there are so many of them, there are just constantly horses and carriages going round the streets. It's cool to see, but we didn't do one, we walked round everywhere they take you, so it would just be seeing things we've already seen. Plus I felt sorry for the horses having to go round and round the city all day, I hope they are treated nicely.
There are chocolate shops everywhere, there are just whole streets full of chocolate shops! All right next to each other, and they were all packed, because people (like us) would buy something different from each shop. We didn't buy too much chocolate, some yummy Christmas one's and a box full of 15 assorted one's.
They do great hot chocolate's here too, they do hot steamed milk, then put a chocolate lollipop inside so it melts, so yummy. You really need it because it is freezing. I don't think the temperature got above 1 degree the whole we were there.
There was a lot of snowfall on Saturday night, so on Sunday we got our first glimpse of Europe snow!
They had these in a chocolate shop we stumbled across...they looked really appetising..
We had even more snow on Monday morning, it was about -3 degrees when we got up.
We had some frites with mayonnaise at Bruges train station while waiting for the train, they were delicious! But the large was WAY too big.
Are those vagina chocolates I see? Hilarious!
