Our second day in Prague started quite lazily. We slept in quite late and had a long breakfast in our hotel which was delicious. We had a super king size bed which was so comfortable we had to drag ourselves out and into the city.
We had great weather the whole time we were in Prague. It was lovely and sunny, which was a nice change after freezing cold and foggy Vienna.
We didn't have much planned for the day. We decided to further explore the Old Town as there were lots of pretty streets full of beautiful coloured and patterned buildings.
Lots of pretty Christmas decorations everywhere
All streets in the Old Town seem to end up back in the Old Town Square, so we easily found ourselves back at the Christmas Markets.
The markets looked quite different in the daytime, a lot busier with more tourists and huge tour groups. We were able to see a lot more of the stalls and surrounding buildings than we had the previous night.

We happened to be next to the Astronomical Clock as it struck twelve, the crowds were crazy. People started lining up about 20 minutes early to get a good spot. The Clock was definitely nicer at night time without the crowds of people fighting to get a good view.
In the daytime the Old Town looked even nicer than it had the night before. I mentioned it looked like it came straight from Disneyland, and I really think Walt Disney must have been inspired by the brightly coloured buildings and their facade as with the Town Hall and Cathedral in the background, it looked like something out of a movie.
Beautiful building decorations
We ended our lazy day of wandering the back streets with a stroll along the riverside and back along the Charles Bridge. It was nice to enjoy the sunshine with no specific plans. We stopped several times for an espresso to warm us up, and a huge Bratwurst at a shop next to the Charles Bridge.
As the sun set we headed back to the hotel to relax further with a glass of red wine before packing up our things ready for our flight home the next day.

Again a wonderful Travel blog you make the city come alive.
