Perissa and Kamari

We spent our third day on Santorini on the opposite side of the island to where we were staying. After breakfast we wandered down to Fira to get the bus to Perissa. Perissa is about a 40 minute bus ride away from Fira, because the bus goes on a really long random route to get there, but it was a good way to see some more of the inland of the island.

Perissa is a tiny beach town popular with British tourists on package holidays. However since we were there at the end of the season, it was pretty much empty. There are a few shops, but the main attraction is the beach, with cafes along the beachside, and loungers up and down the beach.

We stopped and had an iced chocolate at one of the beach side cafes and watched the boats departing for other beaches on the island. It was nice to get out of the hot sun and do some people watching.

After stopping for a cold drink, we did some shopping in some of the little stores in Perissa, it was mostly jewellery and beach wear, but I got a cool top that I'm wearing in these photos. It's similar to one Kylie brought me back when she was overseas, but that got too big for me and I had to give it away. So I'm glad I got to find another one similar.

After spending a couple of hours sunbathing on the beach, we hopped on a boat that took us from Perissa, to another popular beach town, Kamari.

Kamari was much busier than Perissa, and it's another place popular with package holidays. The beach is much larger, and there are heaps of shops, bars and restaurants. That's definitely where you'd stay if you only wanted to go to the beach and party all night!

The boat ride was pretty awesome, it took about 25 minutes, and we got some amazing views of the cliffs on the side of Santorini.

The captain and his mate were both fishing off the back of the boat for most of the trip. Don't think they caught anything though.

We saw this awesome sight in the middle of the ocean! It was so funny, the dog was just sitting there while the couple was paddling.

Kamari Beach

I thought this was so funny! Similar to the dog in the kayak, this one was just happy to go for a ride!

Boiling hot and a little bit sunburnt...

We had a visitor under our table while we were eating lunch

We had lunch at a restaurant recommended by our hotel manager. As with all her recommendations, the food was fantastic. We shared the Greek platter, with Moussaka, Lasagne, Potatoes, Stuffed Tomatoes, Rice and Meatballs! So delicious, but I really wanted a nap afterwards.

We ended our day having dinner at the same place we ate on our first night, at La Maison. It was very hazy, so the sunset wasn't as stunning as the first night, but the Apple Tart was delicious!
